2020-2021 just keeps on delivering the blows to my family and friends. My best friends father went to heaven and we are all aching so deeply. Although I am not related by blood, he treated me as if I were! My psuedo dad as we would say! It was always a joke when we would be out how he had two daughters named Katie.
I have been so lucky to be a part of the Wallace family all of these years! I met Katie in 7th grade, I remember staying at her moms house and her dads house many weekends for sleepovers and such. He was always SO generous and always smiling or laughing. PLUS we always had the best snacks and he was always good for conversation! I always felt welcome, he was a "cool" dad. He would take us wherever we wanted to go and spare no expense!
Katie and I lost touch a few short years in college and then we were back around 2009ish. It was like no time had passed at all. Again the Wallace family welcomed me back with open arms. For YEARS I spent weekends at their house. It was always fun taking Geoff to work late night/early mornings, taking him to run errands, etc. He always made sure our bellies were full and again, we always had good, meaningful conversations. At night he'd always be sure to hug/kiss everyone goodnight and tell us how much he loved us! Always optimistic, wishing us to have a great day tomorrow.
This past summer I remember going over to the Wallace's with my Fiance Ray for dinner. I was pregnant with my first children (twins). He was so excited for us! But one of the dinners after eating we went outside while the guys played some frisbee. Katie and I sat on the back patio to talk to Geoff. Talking about children we got on the topic of Ian and Katie being born. Geoff, being the sensitive man he was, began to cry. I began to get teary eyed as well, and then we all had a good chuckle to laugh it off. He loved his children more
than ANYTHING!
We will miss this generous, loving, sensitive man and all his quirks, esp those Geoffrey Wallace "sayings", if you know, you know LOL! Rest easy Geoff! How blessed everyone is to have known you! Please everyone keep the Wallace's in your prayers still as they go thru these sad days! ❤️❤️
